I fully believe that most people on benefits are honest and are entitled to the money. There are a few scammers everywhere, whether that's MPs or people filching off employers etc

Mick Philpott was on bail for a violent road rage incident when he killed his six children in a house fire, it emerged today.

He punched another driver in front of his teenage daughter after swerving in front of him and forcing him to stop.

Philpott had apparently believed the motorist had pulled out in front of him at a roundabout.

At the time - a week before the fatal fire - he was awaiting trial having pleaded guilty to common assault.

Details of Philpott's previous convictions were revealed to trial judge Mrs Justice Thirlwall ahead of his sentencing at Nottingham Crown Court.

In 1978 he was sentenced to seven years in prison after he repeatedly stabbed a former girlfriend.

He received a concurrent five-year sentence for grievous bodily harm with intent after attacking her mother when she rushed to her daughter's aid.

In 1991 he received a two-year conditional discharge for assault occasioning actual bodily harm after he headbutted a colleague, and in 2010 he was given a police caution after slapping his wife and dragging her outside by her hair.

Anthony Orchard QC, for Philpott, said his client's conviction for attempting to murder his previous girlfriend was a "long time ago" and there was no evidence of similar offending.

Interrupting, the judge told him: "There's been violence in every single relationship, has there not?"

I really don't think that Mick will be producing more children - he will be in his 70s at least by the time he gets out!

It won't be any different for him in prison, he will probably hold court in his cell and the vulnerable prisoners there will look up to him, he is manipulator off the vulnerable.


The only difference is he won't get any sex.


He will be getting his free meals, free sky and free Internet....no difference from when he was living on the outside.


On the other hand SHE will be petrified like she was when she was living with him.......that won't change, that is the way HE made her feel.


The only way to free herself from him is to tell the truth.

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewheere but the Council is going to demolish the Phillpot home in view of the tragedy that occurred there and the reluctancce of any future Tenant to want to live there.
