It doesn't matter.

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
I thought Ricardo Paiva was the family liaison officer who the MaCanns felt let them down.
Did he not turn up at the Portimao arguido interviews to their surprise ?
Paulo Rebello took over from Amaral.

Correct. It amazes me that people don't know who the key characters in the case are.

Some may not who are new to the case but I am sure most of us know the facts in the case.

One also has to consider (in the absence of a full and final conclusion to solving the mystery) that there may be other key characters yet to be revealed.

Unfortunately the UK media is bias in its presentation of the case so is it any wonder?

But you claimed that googling Ricardo Paiva brought you no information. I find that odd.
A simple search for RICARDO PAIVA brings
And a search for ricardo paiva madeleine mccann brings.

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
Ricardo Paiva was the liason officer and the one Kate referred to as....well...See 1.40 in this video...
Regarding whether it is the real Ricardo Paiva, he asked to be a friend on my Facebook a while ago and I had carefully checked his account and friends and am comfortable in establishing it is who he says he is.

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
Not a wasted post at all. I demonstrated for those who find searching a little difficult that by adding the extra term Madeleine McCann you get closer to the results you want faster.
And by the way I believe it was you who said
So my conclusion that you used Google was due to your own post.

Odd that as Hideho says she is confident to say that the account isn't cloned. She is listed as one of his friends on the page and says she has checked him out. Doesn't look cloned to me. What makes you say that?

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
Thanks platinum...yes, I am confident it is the real Ricardo Paiva.
All his wall posts and friends (well most) originate from Portugal as well as names we recognise in the case and their families.
Unless 'cloning' means that HIS account can be taken over...there is no question in my mind it's him.

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
Someone on Facebook has said that he posted on JATYK2 first before posting on FB and his original FB is in portuguese
David Bret Some mystery person has sent me screenshots of messages between a Paiva and Justine Spencer, wherein they compare notes about "anti-McCann freaks". Needless to say they've been forwarded to the PJ to evaluate their authenticity. On this particular Paiva page is a list of his friends--many on them on the Loonies page, but none from the Paiva page where most of the posts are in Portuguese.
I don't understand it I'm afraid.

Re: Facebook/Ricardo Paiva
There may be another account pretending to be Ricardo Paiva but the account that was used to post on David Brets Facebook is the same account that I have on my facebook.
His messages come directly to my hotmail.

Has this David Bret got a good pedigree for posting the truth?
Has this David Bret provided evidence to show that it isn't the real Paiva?
I have a suspicion that more are likely to believe HideHo after her sterling work here.
Just my feeling of course.

kitti wrote:I don't know what's going on and I don't understand it but David Brett is saying that the supposed posting was not from the real Ricardo ......
I get all the messages directly to my email inbox so I am never sure if they are deleted or not, but according to David Bret he was advised by four people that it was not the real Ricardo Paiva. How credible those messages were is unknown.
What I am saying is that the same 'Ricardo Paiva' that posted on David Brets Facebook and the 'Ricardo Paiva' that requested (and was accepted') to my facebook is the same person.
The post he made came directly to my email inbox and clicking on the link to his account brings me to the same Ricardo Paiva that I have checked out and who has many friends in Portugal as well as Goncalo Amaral and his family.
It is very understandable that with the fakes around it is easy to get taken in by them. I can only say that I have done all I can to confirm it is him, apart from contact him directly.
