totally agree Tigger.
It was neglect and that is a fact, if a lawyer said it from IFLG, not a very good
advert for them, shows he doesnt know the first thing about child protection.

And the sheer number of people who seem to sympathise with the McView about this is seriously disconcerting.
"We've all done it"
Well HELLO, we haven't all done it.
And what is more, we do not need a "professional" opinion to know instinctively that what Healy and McCann claim they did is just wrong.

Unsupervised and thus vulnerable children
I'm rambling again but I couldn't help but smile at the last item on Health & Safety from the McCanns' chosen school's website - bottom of the page.

We have Gerry's word for it that they actually said that. So that's all right then, thank goodness.

In Kate's book she says it s a barrister from IFLG (no name mentioned) who said they were "well within the bounds of reasonable parenting"

A few children are being dropped off and left unsupervised well before 8:45 when the teacher comes on duty. This means that some children are totally unsupervised and are consequently in a vulnerable position. Please contact the 5 Star club or make an arrangement with another parent if you have difficulties in this area.
Looks like more of the , "we all do it", mentality. Not surprised really. Sad.
ETA Btw. Brilliant idea to advertize the fact on a website open for anyone to access, that young children are regularly left unsupervised.

Spot on Panda, What many aren't aware of unless they are on forums such as this is' the McCanns registered their missing daughter as a Trade Mark....

Illegal yes, but nonpunishable if the PM and Chancellors name is in your mobiles contact list.tigger wrote:cherry1 wrote:I dont believe that the Mccanns have stated the actual name of this 'professional' who told them what they did was within the bounds of reasonable parenting, and I cant honestly imagine any professional owning up to saying such a thing either.
I think it was one of the lawyers of the IFLG (International Family Law Group) who visited them on the 11th May in PdL. Allegedly, in any case it has no more weight in law than if I absolved them personally. Under both Portugese and British law it is Child neglect, it is illegal to leave a child in a position whereby they could suffer injury or be in danger.
