Re: Gonçalo Amaral's books
Wouldn't it be something amazing if the McCanns were arrested under an EU Warrant, stuck in a Portuguese jail for months, while the wheels of justice ground very slowly?
Re: Gonçalo Amaral's books
Would it be the sainted McCann couple or their agent (legal) Duarte that would held be in contempt? Either way no UK media will cover it but I am past about that caring to be honest.

Re: Gonçalo Amaral's books
I don't know the exact legal position in Portugal, but I'm guessing that one of two things happened here:
1) The McCanns instructed Duarte to hold on to the books no matter what - or ...
2) Duarte suggested holding on to the books and the McCanns agreed.
In my way of thinking, that makes all of them in contempt. Anyone of them could have stopped this lunacy by immediately returning the books. So far it looks like nobody did.
I'm not at all surprised that the McCanns have contempt for the law.
I am surprised that someone in Duarte's position would share that contempt.

How do we even know for sure that the deadline even exists. There's been nothing about it in the papers here. Not that this lack of news is anything to go by. I

I like to imagine them being given the kind of accommodation they deserve!

That would be good, but I would prefer if
he was press-ganged into the Portuguese
navy, (the navy Gerry thinks they ain't got)
and made to man the crow's nest 24-7!!

Kate should be made to jog off the plank in her pink trainers whilst rabid dogs nip at her heels.

Anyway people keep the faith!
The books HAVE to be returned and after what they've put Mr.Amaral through l doubt he'd let them get away with it.

Re: Gonçalo Amaral's books
I was just checking out a link to Joana Morais' blog on one of the threads here and xclamation's twitter ticker tape was running .
In answere to a query she said the books HAVE to be returned because two seperate Courts made the order. I bet they were returned secretly because
the Mccanns wouldn't like the publicity that they ignored a Court decision. No doubt someone will be able to confirm this.

Re: Gonçalo Amaral's books
Well I'm glad I can occasionally provide a little light relief from the serious business .............. but I'd still far rather know for sure where those pesky piles of ash books of Amaral's are

I must say I'm puzzled...
about the books, I mean. Was it not the case that they were due to be returned when it was said they were?
If they haven't been, why has nothing been reported about it? I don't think saying the lawyers concerned are a law unto themselves, and are all friends with the biggest legal bigwigs in Portugal is enough.
Every now and again I remember Coldwater.
