The said it is on TOMORROW night, not next Monday.

Any idea why the Panorama programme has been brought forward to tomorrow?

The programme is being shown in some areas tomorrow and in others on Monday. You'll need to check the schedules for your own particular area.

If you have a sky box, then you can get the other BBC regions. They're on 900 and something. All the different ones Midlands, Scotland, North West and so on.

I was just going to ask how you new about the BBC News at 5.31 and the news wasn't till six. But of course all the times of the posts are an hour behind. I should be a detective shouldn't I!!! Do you think SY would have me.

Mary, it sounds as if you need to adjust the time zone - go to your profile and then to preferences and check whether you need to change the zone. I'm assuming that you are in the U K. I know that when I first joined, the times were an hour out.

Whiter than white wash! He said bringing closure for the family - meaning the conclusion is abducted but now dead! The clip puts the emphasis on the British Police - as if this is going to arrive at a better result (A very British result) than the PJ came up with. They hand their conclusions to the PJ who accept them and its case closed! But its not is it? They might try and tell us so! Hope I am wrong!!

Re: It's just been on BBC news 6 pm
Totally agree with the last posts. Closure for the family. They're home and dry.
Now it's 'British' - the Portugese are slated and Amaral is accused of making money out of the poor gentle McCanns' misery.
It's a PR exercise - the Tapas haven't been interviewed? Neither have the parents - it's a paper exercise.
I don't have a TV - will have to rely on transcript and posts here. Just as well.

The "family" could describe Grandparents, brother, sister, aunties, uncles etc. At least they didn't say closure for Kate and Gerry!

Or a Freesat box, or any generic Satellite TV receiver.

yes.
Also, «closure» could mean that they will say that Madeleine is dead. It would be a «closure for the family» because they can stop looking for her, ie Madeleine is dead so the family can move on..
Moreover, saying on BBC they think (conclude) that Madeleine is dead open the door for the PJ to re-open the case..
And IMO, this could be a good news because it would stop the fund at least..

Re: It's just been on BBC news 6 pm
I didn't like the bit about Amaral. Do you think Duarte said what she did as the libel trial is about to start? Amaral's views have changed public opinion in Portugal so supposedly people have stopped searching? Can't see any other reason she would say that as it looks bad on her clients. But then we have the sighting so obviously people are still searching!

Re: It's just been on BBC news 6 pm
just seen the 10 o clock news and the clips. I think Dr Amaral handled the ridiculous question well, he said he wrote the book to clear his name. Will people ask why he needs to clear his name? i hope so. Does anyone know when the libel case is, i also think its a piece of propaganda for the libel case. Richard Bilton says Dr Amarals book has solidified peoples thoughts in Portugal that Madeleine is dead and that her parents hid the body. Isabel Duarte repeated that on film. Whilst i think this is being used to say that because of Dr Amaral books people have stopped looking, I think it may be a shot in the foot. People will wonder why the Portuguese believe this. after all most people have a mind of their own, and the number of "sightings" still coming in defy the claim it hindered the investigation. jimo.
I would also like a journalist to ask the same question put to the McCs that was asked of Dr Amaral. jimo. I will watch it, note it, and might even fire off a missive to Andy Redwood. lets wait and see.

Yep, you can bet she said that to prove Amaral`s book has done all the damage. I give up.
