There is a video on this page. Towards the end, they show the original search of Robert Murat's garden, where men can be seen digging behind the foliage.

Since the original searches were extremely thorough, perhaps the body was buried in Murat's garden after the police searched? Perhaps it was buried there and Murat is himself not aware of it? If the dogs are as good as claimed, and I believe they are, one of them at least would have picked up the scent.

I looked on the TVI web site. Pages from the newspaper were shown, which displayed images from Birch's ground penetrating radar. It looked as though there was disturbance to quite a shallow level in the soil, but then the police dug up the garden when they searched the premises.

Were cadaver and blood dogs used in Murat`s garden or just the tracker dogs?

If that reporter hadn't said anything to the police about Robert Murat hanging around, even though he was acting as a translator, I wonder if he would have been in the frame for Madeleine's disappearance.

The house and gardens were searched over two full days in August 2007 with a British dog, which I think was probably Eddie.

They even drained his swimming pool.

Date: 04 and 05 August 2007

Report: Casa Liliana, residence of the suspect Robert Murat, situated on "Ramalhete" road - Praia da Luz - Lagos.

Participants:

PJ: Tavares A., chief inspector, J. Carlos P., Ricardo P, inspectors
UK: Mark Harrison, Martin Grime and Eddie.

On that date, within the context of residential visits, which were carried out at the home of the suspect ROBERT MURAT, an inspection by the dog handling unit was made in the gardens and inside the residence of the accused.

August 4th 2007 - 19h28: Start of the inspection of the gardens of the residence. Eddie, human remains recovery dog, covered the whole perimeter outside the dwelling and nothing abnormal was signalled.

August 5th 2007 - 15h22: The same dog inspected all rooms of the residence and nothing in particular was signalled.

The dogs alerted to the renault which as we know was not hired for sometime afterwards. Therefore, if those alerts were correct and it was Madeleine in the boot of that car, she was somewhere temporarily, then laid to rest quite a few weeks later.

Where better to hide something, than somwhere that has already been searched, sniffed, x-rayed and anything else the PJ could think of ? Why would the PJ return and re-dig once it had already been done.

Unlikely of course, but just an opinion.

Well he has his legal people at the ready so is expecting trouble.
It could be of course that it is a pet that has been buried, hence no alert from Eddie, but why put a drive in that position where he says it was of no use. But people do have areas of hard standing for washing lines or other domestic reasons.
I certainly think though that we have not heard the last of this chap and his findings.

Was it the May dig that GMc completely ignored in his inane blog? If you thought that your missing child might be buried in a neighbouring garden you'd be there watching. Yet no mention IIRC in the blog, in fact I think he said they'd had an early night.

Bit like when the world was waiting for the dna on the glass in Tonigren? (I think) and the parents hot footed somewhere the opposite way.

Little things like that raise red flags. Perhaps this article is why there was that load of Horrocks in the super, soaraway rag.

If anyone really thought a body was there it would be dug up already and it would be over every media outlet in the world.
However, it is probably a deceased pet.

That is more or less what was said in the article.

Thinking about it, t The Mcann's were very eager to set Murat up and turn him into a suspect. As was the rest of the tapas. IF: this scenario is accurate, then it would make sense as they would assume Murat's garden was going to be searched thoroughly and that would mean they get the body back.

What sort of newspaper in the uk is this newspaper equivilent to?
