Re: Ben Needham sensation (Mirror News)
I've changed my mind since yesterday about finding Ben under that mound. After watching Kerry yesterday, I hoped they wouldn't find him but how much longer can she go on like that? She is in a terrible way and I would think finding him now and giving him a proper burial and somewhere to go to mourn the little mite might give her a tiny bit of peace. I hope that has come out the right way, my sympathy is 100% with Kerry

Bits of old toys that toddler Ben Needham may have been playing with when he disappeared have been uncovered by detectives searching for his remains.
Police excavation experts used a JCB digger to cut away massive chunks of the mound which they fear Ben could have been buried under in 1991.
They also swept the area with a metal detector and found chunks of toys – which could be the Dinky cars Ben had with him when he vanished.
The potentially dramatic development on the Greek island of Kos came as Ben’s mum Kerry almost collapsed yesterday while speaking about the search and continued to insist: “Ben is still alive.”
Det Supt Matt Fenwick, who is leading the 20-strong British team, said: “Bits of toys have been found, but we do not yet know if they are his.
Hi ann, in the BBC Radio news at 2pm they said Bens family didn't recognise the bits of toys they'd found.

I know what you're saying wjk, l want Ben to be alive but l want peace for Kerry. I just hope if he was abducted someone will come forward now.

How do you think she will feel if that is the case.....all these years and Ben was that close.!! Since Kerry was in work how could she know what really happened to Ben? I think that might be a Friend with her, looks too young to be her Mother.
And l read that she said she would question her own abilities as a mother because she feels in her heart that Ben is alive and always has been. I couldn't believe how bad she was on the television last night poor soul, she said she knows this must be ruled out but it must be awful to go through.
I didn't even know that Kerry was at work that day, l thought she was decorating in her parents home there, or that builders were doing this work nearby. I can understand a little toddler wandering off to find the source of the noise, it's something my vehicle obsessed son would have done at that age if he got the chance.
Hi margaret, someone posted earlier on here an excerpt from Kerry's blog where she says she was sitting by the pool after finishing work and her brother came and told her Ben was missing.

Re: Ben Needham sensation (Mirror News)
Can't remember whether I've posted this on here already, but her brother apparently has special needs and he used to give Ben rides on his scooter. Bens grandparents supposedly didn't raise the alarm for an hour or so because they thought he had gone off with his uncle on the scooter. There was some talk of the police suspecting the brother had had an accident and panicked and hidden the body. The reason I'm wondering about Kerry's state of mind now, is because I am wondering if she is scared that little Ben will be found and that the brother may be implicated.
She said her life would be over if they find his bones. As others have said, I would have thought any closure, even the worst type would be better than none.

Re: Ben Needham sensation (Mirror News)
Forgot to say, I saw a tv programme where the brother was regressed under hypnosis in an attempt to see if he could remember anything.
Sadly, history has shown that it really is very very often that the family is involved.

Re: Ben Needham sensation (Mirror News)
yes i was shocked when i first saw Kerry yesterday ...but when you think about it is the first time Kerry has had any real help in looking for Ben ...and it could be all the emotion of it all has caught up with her ...also as already said on here ....she is hoping to eliminate the speculation ..Ben is there ....imagine the pressure of not really knowing what the out come is going to be [and told he has been found destroying all her hope] ... its horrendous for her ..poor Kerry my heart goes out to her ...

Yes Roasted Arizona , not sure about the Brother but after 21 years if Ben's remains are found it will haunt Kerry that the recent digging was not checked out at the time. Then she has to get back to some kind of normality and accept the fact that her search is over.........very very hard after 21 years when she has convinced herself that Ben is alive, I feel sorry for her.

yw
Specialist search dogs and diggers are searching a pile of rubble where he was last seen as a little boy, but so far no significant discoveries have been made.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-20028856
suppose they could still search other areas though

I hope they don't find him there. As for those bits of toys they found, if my garden was thoroughly searched I'm sure there would be bits of toys to be found. There's a big, bouncy glitter ball that bounced and disappeared into the undergrowth a while back!

Our old house had some funny previous owners, one would bury his rubbish - which is fine - trouble was he never buried it very far down. You'd go to dig a plant in the ground and lift up old shoes, dolls heads and pairs of tights!

Didn't you have a refuse collection where you used to live?!
How bizarre to go to the trouble of burying things in the garden when it would be so much easier to put them in the dustbin!

Yes, we did. Like l say, strange.... Funnily enough once they'd long gone and l was grown up, they owned the pub l drank in, and you'd never have thought they'd have done something like that, they were lovely people.
Oh, go on kitti now you've got me all suspicious...

My sister bought a house once and when they started to strip the wallpaper, they found a whole load of really, really ancient £1 notes pasted to the wall behind it. Unfortunately they all got ruined by the scraper!

There doesn't seem to be any more news on how the search is going. I wonder if that means it is finished.

With diggers etc it shouldn't take long but if they find nothing, Ben's Mother will be so upset the Police might not make a statement yet.
