Apparently someone has remarked that in the 'missing files'....the pj apparently have footage of the parents' hired Renault driven in "places without reason" In petrol stations and on highways.

When they refused to answer questions it confirmed their belief.
The ridicule from the British media re-inforced their determination.
The political pressure only sufficed to disprove coruption in the PJ.
But most important of all they have one piece of gold, evidence that cannot be reputed.
This visit is to clarify secondary evidence.
Kate was the original loose canon, alas someone else took the mantle, and the beauty is its all on footage

There is no way in hell that they will have GA on the stand, to speak about anything that may be in the "hidden" files. They KNOW he knows stuff not in the public domain. No way will they take that chance. They will try to drop the charges at the 11th hour because they know GA will not accede. Interesting times ahead. I reckon that GA is thinking he has lost so much that he may as well go the whole hog now.

Well I hope the trial takes place.
I want to see them in a witness box (NOT a video link), along with the rest of their sordid shower of so-called friends.

i wonder if any of the UK Press will take up Gerry McCann when he says he wants to see a fair and truthful press. well here is some fair and truthful news. there is no settlement in the McCanns v Goncalo Amaral case. someone grow some brass ones and print the story and how it has come about.

They won't dare print anything until Clarrie writes it for them!

Now we know why they were not so happy bunnies in Marr show, as they usually are.

Amaral would never put a future court case in danger, and tell what is in the hidden files. He can get mccanns of his back with less.

i dont think the mcanns will eversee inside a court room where they are under oath tbh -- they will cave in and move on -- they know the press are turning -- they have had 6 years with the press on their sides -- only way the mcanns and friends will answer any questions is if they really have to sy or portugal working together -- imo the most we can hope for is the press turning

C'mon now Clarrie - let's see your take on this very important story!

Of course weiss. I worded that badly. What I meant was, they won't take the chance that he could mention to the judge that there is stuff not yet in the public domain (should their be a future trial).

Thanks Anna, l was thinking of that all night, l remember it well. (Though l remembered it as 'it's all IN the footage' and there was talk of the trainer/boot bloodstain)

I wonder what the bit in bold means exactly? And l wonder what was going on when it happened?

We've heard all along there is one piece of gold as in evidence that cannot be refuted.

Well when you think about it, the car did mileage that the Mccanns can't account for, they MUST off filled up somewhere and that somewhere wasn't where they said they were.


I wonder if the PJ took the time to figure out different routes they could off gone and got CCTV from different petrol stations and came across them filling up and then worked out the radius or perhaps the other way round....the mileage must off been found out about when they got the car in for forensics but it was too late then as the Mccanns fled and was it mentioned in the files at all?

People took the piss out off coldwater about the body being on a cold piece off metal, or something like that BUT mr amaral has stated himself that Madeleine could off been frozen and kept somewhere.

True kitti l've thought the same as you, and l've always said until we know the truth we cannot say CW was a WUM. Mr.Amaral has never lied to us and to an extent that agrees with what CW said.

i have always thought that there had to be outside help for them all -- for this case to move forward portugal -- sy needs to reinterview everyone -- without this imo nobody is going to crack -- someone in the early days said the pact will break one day as the children are growing up -- lets not forget that the tapas all of them havent had any press at all -- that in itself i find strange -- in cases since the tia one the mathews one and other cases they look outside and work their way in -- yes we have had the hot lips comments but nothing else -- i think they key to solving this is who really knew who before this holiday -- and what kind of holiday was it

The tapas 7 used their 'payout' to their advantage hence the 'non' stories.

Congratulations to Mr Amaral for taking the solid stance he has against the blatant deceptive lies, character assassination and personal persecution from a pair of self confessed child neglecters using the funds which were publicly donated to find the daughter they admitted to abandoning.

Kate and Gerry McCann have failed to reach an out-of-court settlement or agreement in the civil case against Gonçalo Amaral, the former Police Inspector accused of defamation.



The defence lawyer said today that as the parties have not reached any agreement the case should now be reactivated in the Civil Court of Lisbon which will have to schedule a new date for the start of the trial.

The first hearing was scheduled for January 24th 2013 but a week before the trial was due to start the judge granted a breathing space in the hope that a settlement could be reached in the case where Madeleine's parents are claiming compensation of €1.2 million from Amaral for defamation.

This action has already prompted a request for the seizure of Gonçalo Amaral’s goods as a ‘precautionary measure.’

In a related case the Civil Court of Lisbon decided in January 2010 to maintain the ban on the book "Maddie - The Truth of the Lie", written by Gonçalo Amaral, and on a video with the same title based on a documentary broadcast on TVI.

The ban of the book and the video, in which Gonçalo Amaral claims that Kate and Gerry McCann were involved in the disappearance of their daughter and in the concealment of her body, has been in place since September 9th 2009.

Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, while holidaying in an apartment in a holiday village of Praia da Luz.

At the time of her disappearance, Goncalo Amaral was the coordinator of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Judicial Police of Portimão and was in charge of the investigation.

Kate and Gerry McCann have always claimed that the child was abducted but were made defendants in September 2007.

The case was closed for lack of evidence in July 2008, although prosecutors say they will reopen the case if new facts emerge about the child's disappearance. Despite investigations by a dedicated team from Scotland Yard no new facts of significance have emerged."

Still doesn't appear to be any word from Clarrie or a press conference called by the hacked off leader/spokesman. Strange that - if it was Dr A who'd backed down can you just imagine the 24/7 rolling news and front pages.

I hope that they're not allowed to string this out now and that the trial goes ahead soon. Is it the fame or the dream of being leaders/important/celebs/famous that keeps them going? If they'd shut up a few years ago they'd probably have been forgotten, certainly by the majority. They just couldn't help themselves and kept on promoting team mc and through their greed and arrogance they have made lots of people aware of their behaviour.

This is very poor Journalism: SY are not giving a running Commentary to all and sundry (apart from whatever their Family Liaison person is obliged to).

Sadly, some people will read that and take it as gospel.

i too think that sy and portugal will keep what they have to themselfs -- they will act if there is something to act on -- if there is anything at all 1st we will see of this is on the news -- portugal wont be made a fool of again - they will be watching evens carefully and all the spin
