A point to remember for any future cases:

if you see anything a little bit iffy, don't act on it immediately. Wait about 6 years and then when an elite branch of a police force starts to "put the pieces together", come forward. After all your recollection of events so long ago will be crystal clear.

I dare say, this 'new suspect' and 'new witnesses' have already been interviewed/looked at by the Portuguese police and dismissed. How can we have 'new' people at this stage, 6 years on coming forward, its ridiculous!!

Yes - 'new' to Joe Public maybe, but not necessarily 'new' to us.

Not one sighting, bit of DNA (except in McCanns car rental), found after her disappearance!

This is all so frustrating! Not one single sighting (out of hundreds of false sightings), not one tiny bit of DNA (except for the McCanns car) have been found since the day she disappeared. How crazy is all this? What is going on?  

My money is still on this being a ruse by Scotland Yard to analyse the behaviour of the Mccanns.
IF the Mccanns were credible and telling the truth this would be a highly emotional event.
This 'man' could hold the link to them getting their child back. This could be it, the moment.

It will be interesting to see how they play it.

Spot on. This is where reviews come in. Something or someone who was once previously regarded with suspicion but then discounted can resurface once a different set of questions are asked, which in turn brings forward new witnesses.

I wonder how well Robert Murat is sleeping at the moment. He's been through alot but if this new suspect just even remotely looks like him, he'll be nervous, so lets hope the ID looks completely different.

I heard the short bit by Brunty at 11.30am this morning. A new suspect. I don't know what to think. Brunty appeared to think this was quite a breakthrough. Can he be for real? Some bloke hanging around 'somewhere near the apartment' at about 'the right time'? What is 'the right time?' Can we be sure? Gerry McCann saw his sleeping daughter at 9.10pm, Jane Tanner saw Bundleman at about 9.15, if I remember rightly, and the Smith sighting was about 9.50pm. Kate found Madeleine was missing at about 10pm. Am I correct?

What is this man supposed to have wanted Madeleine for? Why did he want to remove her from the apartment? Taking a child from inside a holiday apartment for paedophile reasons, especially with all that checking going on, seems indescribably unlikely. Surely he couldn't be waiting to take away a blue sports bag.

No, he'll be OK, because if it looks like him, then it will also look like Payne.

It will also look like David Payne and Angus Symington.

A suspect who doesnt know hes a suspect and who SY havent even found yet....very promising indeed.

In a holiday village, people may have been "hanging around" waiting for friends/family to meet them, waiting for a taxi, having a fag outside a rented apartment. Anyone who happened to be standing around within a km of the McCanns' apartment is a suspect!

They will be a laughing stock, this case will never go away. ike Hillsborough, Savile and these care homes - the truth will out.

v'e just switched on sky News and and can't believe that after more than two years SY can produce a new suspect. !!!! Of Course, this has absolutely nothing to do with the Amaral case and the McCanns insisting there is "fresh evidence. "  

Martin Brunt says this suspect will be the "Centrpiece" of the Crimewatch programme. Police have drawn up a photofit and will explain why he is suspect.
Also , he has been classed as a "new POSSIBLE suspect.

I am truly disgusted by this turn of events and would demend to know exactly WHEN this suspect was found , if months ago why didn't SY try to track him down then ? they didn't have to wait until Crimewatch , they could have shown the e-fit on T.V. themselves.

Yes indeed, and how many prisoners languishing in HM prisons
convicted by the canny evidence provided by the noses of the
two wonder dogs, just waiting to exercise their appeals?
And all other government and law enforcement agencies who
employ the special skills of these dogs, who are now waiting
to find out, if all along, they have been 'barking up the wrong

If they have the e-fit now they need to release it now. Why would SY wait for a Crimewatch programme? Makes no sense at all.
