Did he serve the McCanns at the restaurant. Was he sacked during their vacation. Is that how they are saying he knew they were leaving children all alone.
If that is so, it would be incredible how the PJ did not investigate this.

I would like to know what his widow thinks about him being stitched up like this.
Does anyone know if he had any previous convictions for sex crimes?

I'm almost sure I heard he was sacked the year before. So really a feeble attempt all round. I wonder where this came from.

Anyone THINK that some of the unlimited 'funding' from the UK has found it's way into the hands or pockets of the 'NEW' PJ 'team'?
Cheaper than spending another £5 million on 'searching'
JIMO, obviously.

Re: Correio da Manha: PJ track suspicious dead employee of Ocean Club UPDATE From Joana Morais on Pg.8
Joana Morais on Facebook this morning:
Everything that has come out in CdM, and was today echoed in the UK media, is part of the rogatory letter requests sent by the British police, being carried out by a six man team of the PJ in Faro, who are working exclusively within the scope of that rogatory letter and nothing else. If CdM was correct with the articles that they have published that means that even the search for Maddie's body, the questioning of witnesses, the gipsy lead, the dead OC worker lead, the triangulation of cell phones and phone masts and the reconstitution are part of those requests made by the English. A PJ team has not yet been constituted to work in the process since it was reopened by the Public Ministry, that is, the official PJ investigation to the Maddie case has not yet been resumed.

If this story has come from the pj then frankly it is pathetic.

Thanks Anna! Well, that's fab news if so. SY want the reconstruction, the phone info, the search for Madeleine and questioning of witnesses!AnnaEsse wrote:Joana Morais on Facebook this morning:

The rest is spin, put out by you know who to take the emphasis off the rest.

This may be the BOUNTY that comes from SY announcing that they are following the abduction theory and the parents aren't suspects.margaret wrote:Thanks Anna! Well, that's fab news if so. If the justification for failing to reconstruct was the concern that they would be fitted up (and I know it was T7 or some of them who refused; but still) they now have assurance from SY AND the new PJ that this is not the case so there is little to be feared in producing the phone records and doing the reconstruction.

Re: Correio da Manha: PJ track suspicious dead employee of Ocean Club UPDATE From Joana Morais on Pg.8
News caster trying to blame the PT police for not stopping burglaries; when the interviewee states that there was nothing to back up the assertion that there were six burglaries and new caster then blames THAT on the police for not recording it.
I guess if you start with the police are to blame and work backwards from there you can find an explanation for anything that did, or did not, happen. !

Frencheuropean, thanks. very interesting I thought the editor of Portugal News answered honestly in the face of aggressive statements from Eamon Holmes who tried to talk over him when answering. I wasn't entirely sure that what Paul Luckman said found favour with EA.

Is there any actual evidence that makes this man a suspect? Apart from being in the area according to his mobile phone.
Many people were in the area and they did not do it. So why this man? because he is dead I suppose.

Even clarrie can spin reports going into the Portuguese newspapers too.
Just because it's in this paper doesnt mean to say it was given by the Portuguese .

Re: Correio da Manha: PJ track suspicious dead employee of Ocean Club UPDATE From Joana Morais on Pg.8
If indeed there had been a spate of burglaries or things missing from flats left unlocked perhaps that's what the OC reception tried to warn the T9 about. the ones responsible to keep their kids safe are not the OC employees (unless said kids are in their care in the crèche) but the parents; the ounce of prevention to prevent the pound of cure is with them, not the police force running around investigating petty crimes that result from carelessness "I left my camera in the restaurant and it's gone now" = time to buy a new camera.
Hotels with sliding doors are notorious for this all over the place, not just Portugal. We had my OH's laptop taken from a nice hotel in California in just that way - we were swimming and left the sliding door to the pool unlocked.
I am not sure what my (excellent) local sheriff would say if I called to report I'd left my door open and returned home to discover my jewelry box missing. Probably "keep your doors locked" and if I am lucky, they would take a description of the jewelry in case it turned up but the items most often taken in this type of burglary would likely be CASH - try tracking that. Are they going to call the PJ in with their fingerprint kit? Doubtful.
In an area that depends on tourism a "spate of burglaries" would be a bad thing; I doubt the police would simply turn a blind eye to that, but the preventative measure is to ask guests to lock their doors so that someone doesn't wander in and remove a camera or wallet. There are burglaries and burglaries. We recently had a notice left not by the police but by the local unofficial neighborhood watch telling us kids were taking things out of sheds and garages so lock your garage door.
McFriends seem to have gotten that memo as well and they got it when they were talking to the OC desk about leaving the kids alone - it's not safe - not sure if they were told there had been a "spate of burglaries" in the area or if leaving doors unlocked and valuables in the room was a good idea.

I agree with you Kitti. there was always an assumption that leaks on the investigation were given by the Portuguese, always had my doubts.kitti wrote:Even clarrie can spin reports going into the Portuguese newspapers too.

I am also wondering if any witnesses can place him anywhere near the resort at the time of Madeleine's disappearance? I am sure that Tanner would be happy to help out with identification. OOPs, meants to reply to fuzeta.

Phone records are useful in two wayskitti wrote:jinvta wrote:kitti wrote:Even clarrie can spin reports going into the Portuguese newspapers too.

And who was talking to on the phone swell that night.....
1, to see who was there that night in general
2, to see whom they were calling
I have to imagine that Sy could get those records from T9 directly, asking them to have their phone providers approve them to have that information if the law prevents them seizing it (which apparently it did in Portugal)
As far as the traffic in general it can show whose calls pinged off those towers and if they narrow the search to suspects they can drill down into who they called but I think there would be serious privacy issues - if the judge in Portugal won't allow them to look at McCann and T 9 records when they were suspects, how would they allow this to happen for random people who happened to be in the area?
I don't know where the UK stands on this but I think random peering into innocent parties phone traffic would be frowned on anywhere. ?

Which explains why the McCanns aren't claiming it's him and that it's all just "pure speculation". They don't want any more libel trials on their hands.dutchclogs wrote:GOOD FOR HER. the poor woman, tanszi wrote:Blacksmith Bureau indicates that the widow has freaked out and is already suing the people who made the claim. good on her! blacksmithbureau.blogspot.com
