Despite the fact the McCanns have given us "speculation" for years, Jerry Lawton has tweeted, "McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell says the couple will not comment on 'speculation'." I guess Clarence didn't jump off the Brighton pier after all.

Wonder if her body will be found due to phone pings .
Bit off a coincidence that, eh.
Wonder who will tell them where the body is?
Due to phone pings off course.

All the articles are the same which makes me think there may have been a press release from a certain person!

Re: Correio da Manha: PJ track suspicious dead employee of Ocean Club UPDATE From Joana Morais on Pg.8
They identified him as their main suspect after they discovered from tests on his mobile phone that he was around the McCanns' holiday apartment when Madeleine disappeared on May 3, 2007.
================
Lots of people were around that apartment it appears. I wonder if the tower that picks up cell phone signals was right next to the apt and there were many others a bit further off, that would put him NEXT TO or AT the apts at that time - if so all the phone records from that tower would be highly interesting.
if there's only one tower for that area all that means is that he was in PDL at that time and he is therefore one of many suspects mainly because he'd been fired. He could have been at Ocean Club to pick up his last check or to have lunch with former colleagues or for many other reasons.
The fact that he was a former employee and was near there puts him somewhat less in the frame than any number of others near there who were for instance pedophiles.
Still it's a clue. And if forensics of body-hiding are to be counted on a body would be buried on or very near his farm.
I suppose if a cadaver dog hit on his barn, whether there was anything there or not, there would be a great outcry.

Re: Correio da Manha: PJ track suspicious dead employee of Ocean Club UPDATE From Joana Morais on Pg.8
And whether his daily business took him anywhere near PDL as a normal activity. When exactly was he fired? Did he as a farmer sell produce at markets there? and yes, why was he sacked? People do things to their former business when unfairly fired or even when they deserve it, but kidnapping a 3 year old to "get back at them" by hoping Mark Warner or Ocean Club would have bad press from that is a real stretch of the imagination.LJC wrote:Only if they find her body will I be convinced it was this person. He's either buried or cremated long since, so he can't be questioned.
His wife may have been shielding him, if this is true, or this may turn out to be bogus altogether.
I would find it hard to believe that he slipped through the net the first time around because past employees with a grievance were being sought by the PJ and if he left well and truly under a cloud, making his name mud, then his name would be the first on the list.
It would be interesting to know how long he was employed for, what he was sacked for and whether he had any criminal record.
They must, if he is really a prime suspect, have other things that connect him.
Otherwise he's just a former employee, not someone who was a known pedophile nor seen lurking near the apts as so many others apparently were. Does he fit the efits of the lurkers?

sorry cadaver dogs in this instance wouldn't wash, because then the cadaver dogs which signalled on the McCanns items would have to be considered and not forgotten about. jimo

And yet I am sure if they did get a hit much would be made of it. If not by them directly then in the press.tanszi wrote:sorry cadaver dogs in this instance wouldn't wash, because then the cadaver dogs which signaled on the McCanns items would have to be considered and not forgotten about. jimo

absolutely widowan, and so it should be. then a look at the signalling of the cadaver and blood dog on the McCs items should be resurrected and examined. if it can be counted in for the same end result of this investigation, then so much that undertaken by Martin Grimes.

The Mail has identified this guy as the "main" suspect. I thought we are supposed to be on the lookout for the person the SY identified on the Crimewatch show.

now cue the bawling from the family that the press are misleading the investigation... but maybe they like this guy as a suspect, he doesn't have the disability of looking like the efit they suppressed.interested wrote:The Mail has identified this guy as the "main" suspect. I saw this on ITV news. All said by the McCanns lawyer. I thought the Portuguese investigation was not being publicised. I was expecting a photo but there wasn't one. I don't think anybody is believing this stuff. That must detract from the investigation.

Tractor accidents unfortunately happen all the time in Portugal, involving the young and the old. However, I've never heard of anyone being murdered by a tractor and even less, committing suicide by tractor.LJC wrote:Well according to this there are other sacked employees - which in a place that size would not be unusual anyway, but more needs to be known, especially as to his character and his past.Annabel wrote:I thought it was a maid who was sacked!

Most former employees with a grudge, if they are hell bent on revenge, usually commit arson or cause criminal damage, or give the place a bad press.
Okay, if he was a sex offender with a record, then its suspicious, if not it is still not impossible to be accused of committing sex offences on the basis you were too clever to get caught previously.
Also, the tractor accident raises questions for me. Too much of a coincidence that he could have done this and then had a fatal accident 2 years later. Now, if it were suicide, that would raise a red flag or two.
Or is it the tractor part that's suspicious? I mean, if he worked on a farm there is potential to bury a body after all.
Anyway, if and when Madeleine's body is recovered it will solve these issues, but until then...

Does it make clear that he was driving the tractor at the time or are there any other circumstances, such as stepped out in front of an oncoming tractor, tractor reversed over him or something else?Colonel Fabien wrote:Tractor accidents unfortunately happen all the time in Portugal, involving the young and the old. Well if tractor man did it, I'm checking myself in. I would be better off with the in mates from one flew over the cuckoos nest, than being outside here in the so called real world.
Unless they have a suspicion that this man was in some way an accomplice, hence their investigations and the obvious pink spin (because I really think the McCanns had help from someone with local knowledge) then I cannot understand what is going.

Public Ministry admits homicide Correio da Manhã
Investigation - Dispatch defends the little girl's death but clears the McCann couple
Ana Luísa Nascimento

Thanks to 'astro' for translation
Prosecutor says that the PJ obtained "little" in terms of conclusive results
The Public Ministry (PM) admits that Madeleine was killed, discards the abduction theory, but does not believe that the McCann couple is involved in their daughter's death. In the archiving dispatch, prosecutor Magalhães e Menezes says that Kate and Gerry were neglectful, but drops the crime of abandonment and closes the investigation with criticism over the Polícia Judiciária’s work.
"The investigators are aware of the fact that their work is not exempt of imperfections. They have worked with an enormous error margin and what they have achieved is very little in terms of conclusive results", the magistrate writes, considering that the result of the investigation does not allow "for an average man to formulate any lucid, sensible, serious and honest conclusion" about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
José de Magalhães e Menezes assumes there is "a high degree of probability that a homicide took place" – he goes further than Gonçalo Amaral who always spoke of an accidental death – but he does not believe in the involvement of the McCann couple, considering that they have always manifested a normal behaviour. On the other hand, the prosecutor alleges that the McCanns had neither the time nor the means to conceal the body, remembering that on the evening of the 3rd of May 2007, the couple had been in Portugal for a few days only and their routine was limited to the limits of the 'Ocean Club': "They did not now the surrounding terrain and, apart from their English friends, they had no contacts in Portugal".
The prosecutor does however fail to point out any other justification for the disappearance of the little girl, after concluding that "no consistent indications were found indicating the execution of an abduction" – defended by the McCanns.
Despite "clearing" the couple, the Public Ministry writes a list of questions that remain unexplained, namely why the procedures of surveillance over the children, by the McCanns and their friends, were changed that night and how the twins failed to wake up in the middle of the confusion – after Kate gave the alert about the disappearance of her daughter. Concerning the constitution of the McCanns as arguidos, he says it is lawful and legitimate and concerning the case, he concludes that "Maddie's disappearance is a case from real life".
The Portuguese seem to be following along the lines of this enquiry that Madeleine could have been taken by a predatory paedophile and is most likely dead, and if she is to be found, it will most likely be a body. This won't sit well with the libel trial, now will it?
