Could the Tories have won had they nominated a candidate that didn't have a proven track record for ambulance chasing and outright lying????

Surely being a liar is the principle quality required for a politician?!

Delighted to read that Clarence Mitchell and Esther McVey were not among the successful candidates.

Surely Mitchell must have been the highest profile candidate amongst them. These results prove that not everyone has not been buying Mitchell's whitewash and he is seen as untrustworthy by the majority of the people. He tried to ride the McCann gravy train as long as he could, but sadly for him, the tide of public opinion has changed.

Agreed NBY, but surely not one who is prepared to lie in order to protect parents who freely admitted to abandoning their children at night on a reegular basis to such a degree that one of them is still missing 8 years down the road...

Re: Libel Trial!!!!!
I wonder though if voters who have not followed the McCann story would even know of his connection with them.

He might have been, but he had no chance of winning - the Tories were always going to come 3rd, at best.

I would imagine so NBY, he's been quoted in all branches of the media as being the McCann's representative for the past 6 or 7 years. Not Born Yesterday wrote:I wonder though if voters who have not followed the McCann story would even know of his connection with them.

The curse of the McCann's has struck again, both McVey and Mitchell were involved with them...interested wrote:Delighted to read that Clarence Mitchell and Esther McVey were not among the successful candidates.

I don't think that too much importance should be attached to the words "in memory" myself. It could be taken to mean something like "thinking of" or "always in our thoughts".
It's obvious that the Sun considers "in memory" as a reference to death. When the Sun "outed" me in that vicious fiendish article last Sunday, the writer said that my donation was "in memory of a Twitter troll found dead after being exposed as being behind vile social media messages about the McCanns". My donation was "In memory of Madeleine McCann and Brenda Leyland" but the Sun omitted my mention of "In memory of Madeleine McCann" and substituted instead their savage description of Brenda Leyland.

Re: Libel Trial!!!!!
Chatter on twitter regarding a massive insurrection going on now in the area around Downing Street, which the British media is not presently covering. Makes you think about all the other things they are keeping quiet about.

I've noticed there is "chatter" on twitter that Esther McVey may be awarded a peerage - surely that must be a joke or, are losers rewarded in this way. I'm afraid to ask what is in store for Mitchell.
