But what if she actually DID die in the apartment, that would be running the criminal trial in the civil action and preventing a real criminal trial against the McCanns from ever taking place! Even if, as I suspect, she did not die in the apartment, Amaral would still want to run aspects of their conduct that led the police to believe they are suspects in her disappearance and should be investigated. Again, it could prejudice evidence that is to be led in a future criminal action against them... as you say, the total lack of evidence of an intruder. Goncalo sets a lot of store on the Smith sighting and I am pretty sure UK Police do as well, maybe he even wants to start gassing about the GASPARS, that would horrify UK police and prosecutors and no not because they want to orchestrate a cover up, but because of our legal rules.

I hope to god Amaral wins this case as we have had a lot of times when we have thought the mccs will not wiggle out of this but they always manage to,what will happen if Amaral loses?
Does it mean no one will be looking for the truth any longer for a little girl which dissapeared into thin air?
i feel awfully upset at the moment as i have done a lot of times when our hopes are up then we fall flat on our faces again,seems the mcmucks always get what they want and when they want and no one can stand in their way,i cant bear thinking of Amaral losing his fight for freedom of speech and his book ban,it will mean the book was a lie and everyone will be calling him a liar and i cant bear thinking what the british press will be printing,its all getting too much to bear just thinking about it,somebody calm my nerves,give us some good news please!

thier own version. Now they want special treatment, and are getting it, to suit their own ends. Who is ever going to stand up to them and win.? I am truly disgusted.

Whenever the McCanns are in serious trouble they wheel out the pink spinner again. In more recent months Gerry even announced that further announcements would be made by Eddie and Clarence was used less and less. That was the level of his eternal optimism about the prospects of winning the case against Amaral. Maybe he not only spent too much time listening to himself but also too much time listening to British lawyers pontificating about Portuguese law and a case they are not actually running. It is true things still look bad for Goncalo Amaral, but he was never going to get justice for Madeleine.

The one thing that says loud and clear from Team McCann that they are desperate and in trouble is them wheeling out the Pink Spinner again and putting out the changed version of the Press Association report concerning the LPs clear determination to bring those "behind the disappearance of Madeleine" to justice in The Daily Express. Of course the Daily Express acceded to their request but they also print the original which then makes a mockery of the second (desperately Mitchelled/McCanned) version. I think it is also very significant that other newspapers are not running Clarence's changed version, the only paper that is running it is one that probably has no choice. Someone suggested on here over the last few days, sorry I cannot remember who, it was probably a term of the settlement agreement they would print reports for the McCanns when requested to do so by Mitchell highlighting the McCanns stranger abduction version of events.Those papers that do not have their hands tied behind their backs are not doing so. LP continue to make absolutely no mention of their supposed version of events and let slip they have been bugging suspects in the UK. I really do sense a serious sea change for the McCanns and those looks on their faces in December in Portugal, heralded the start of a really bad time for them. Leicester Police have poured some more oil on some very troubled waters for them. If they genuinely believed that they could ever control the forces of law and order or the British Press, they were misguided fools. On Paxman Gerry still seemed to think that his Kate and Gerry show and "using the media just when it suits you" was so clever of him it still caused him great amusement. What a conceited fool that man is! True his wife is an arrogant person but she is not so blinded by her own self importance and belief in a capacity to deceive as he is. Between them they are a disaster and deserve everything they have coming to them.
