Confirmation that he's gay..he's a Lib Dem supporter
My personal view is that he looks effeminate, but equally arrogant and bad-tempered..

Re: jo yeates
I found it very strange that Jo's boyfriend said he arrived back at the flat at 8'sh on the Sunday night and after not hearing back from her to the texts and calls he had made from Sheffield over the weekend he waited until midnight'ish to report her missing.
Is that the kind of thing a man does when he sees his girlfriend's bag ,outdoor clothing and keys in the flat they share?
Surely your first thought would be to ask someone who lived in the other flats if they'd seen her...not wait around ?
Also found it strange that Jo's parents said her and boyfriend spent their weekends apart.
Likewise going into Bargain Booze to buy cider . Couple that with the pizza bought in Tesco ?
Does a young woman drink cider by herself or has she had plans to share these when she got back home ?
Why did she use her mobile walking home to arrange to meet a girlfriend for a drink on Christmas Eve when she was going to her parents for Christmas?
I thought the landlord looked unperturbed when questioned by Sky News reporters outside the house. No trace of anxiety on his face at all .
All of this going round in my head.

Hi Blueeyes,
I think the landlord looked very shifty indeed.... and that loud, strong voice he used, was his attempt to appear unperturbed. Plus all that waffling of his about "vaguely" "very vaguely" seeing three people ... very suspicious indeed imo.

Joanna Yeates murder: Christopher Jefferies helped fix car for boyfriend's trip away
The main suspect in the murder of Joanna Yeates helped her boyfriend fix his car for a weekend trip away only hours before the architect vanished, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.
By Martin Evans, Caroline Gammell and Richard Savill 10:00PM GMT 30 Dec 2010
Neighbours told how Christopher Jefferies, 65, found jump leads for Greg Reardon to restart his flat battery so he could drive to Sheffield on December 17.
Miss Yeates vanished later that evening and her snow covered body was found on Christmas Day. She had been strangled.
Mr Jefferies, a former English teacher who was arrested on suspicion of her murder on Thursday, has been described by pupils at Clifton College where he worked for 30 years as a fan of dark and violent avant garde films.
He was arrested at 7am on the Canynge Road in the Clifton area of Bristol where he lived in a flat above his tenants, Miss Yeates and Mr Reardon.
Mr Jefferies, a prominent Liberal Democrat supporter, first came to the attention of the police when he claimed he had seen Miss Yeates leave her flat with two people on the night she disappeared.
He discussed what he had allegedly seen with several of his neighbours at length and his claims, if true, made him the last person to see her alive.
However, he is currently the only suspect in the case.
One of his neighbours, who asked not to be identified, said: “Chris knew that Greg was going to be away for the weekend, because he helped him start his car.
“On the Friday that Joanna went missing, Greg’s car would not start and so he asked Chris for some help.
“Chris went next door and asked his neighbour Peter Stanley for some jump leads. Peter has an American jeep and is rather mechanical minded. They managed to get the car started and off Greg went.”
Mr Stanley, who lives next door to Mr Jefferies, said: “I have spoken to the police about what happened and I would rather not say anymore at this stage.”
The police focus remained on Mr Jefferies on Thursday as forensic experts took his two cars – a grey Volvo S40 and a silver Chrysler Neon – for analysis.
They trawled through the contents of his flats, removing large bags of evidence believed to include his computer.
They also continued examining the blue front door of the flat which Miss Yeates and Mr Reardon had only moved into last October.
Miss Yeates' parents welcomed news of an arrest.
David Yeates, who works in IT, said: “At the end of the day, obviously I'm not happy because my daughter is still dead.
“But we are pleased the police have made an arrest as they have been working very hard to make progress in this case.
“During the investigation police have not told us everything they have discovered but we understand there are certain things they cannot reveal.
“At this time our focus is still with Jo.”
His wife Theresa added: “We are very pleased there has been an arrest.”
Miss Yeates had had lunch with Mr Reardon on the day she vanished.
They had met at the Hope and Anchor, a mile from their home
He drove up to Sheffield early that evening to visit his half-brother Francis for the weekend, while she planned on staying at their flat, preparing for their Christmas party the following week.
However, Mr Reardon quickly realised his girlfriend was missing when he came home on December 19 and raised the alarm.
Her keys, purse, mobile phone and coat were all still in the flat.
Miss Yeates was found eight days later on a country lane near Failand, North Somerset, three miles from their home.
It is understood she was throttled to death but no ligature was used.
A £10,000 reward has been offered for information which may lead to the conviction of her killer.
They have 96 hours in which to charge or release Mr Jefferies.
Neighbours expressed their shock at his arrest. Oliver Cullen used to own two flats in the same building and has known the bachelor for many years.
“I don’t believe for one minute that Chris has done this,” he said. “He would not be physically capable for one thing. He only weighs about 11 stones. He would not have the strength to do something like that.
“He is a nice man. A bit vocal perhaps and certainly rather eccentric, but he was just an old-school teacher really.”

He reminded me of a local man who used to live in this area. He owned and lived in a manor house that burned down a few days ago. The man let out various cottages in the grounds as well as two gate houses and the tenants were all 'alternative,' types who did things like set up a permaculture plot, grew cannabis and had big parties. Ronnie...the manor owner...had set up one of those jungle adventure courses in the grounds, where there were rope swings and rope walks etc and he liked it when kids came to play there. There were rumours that he was a paedo and that the police were well aware of his activities, but since his family was well-connected, they turned a blind eye.

Re: jo yeates
Yes he reminded me too off a teacher at school....a maths teacher.
He was evil.
He would say at the beginning off our math lesson and holding a huge ruler...'every line long or short MUST be drawn with a ruler'
And if he EVER caught you NOT using a ruler......BANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG...with the ruler over your knuckles!!!!
Evil b.......d!!
He had hair like this man lol

Definitely. Monied folks can get away with things that the common Joe Bloggs would get jailed for.

Ronnie and his family were well-connected to local people in power.

Just my opinion: IF the crime was premeditated, IF the suspect is really the one who committed it, I'm pretty sure any "non solved strange case" like this one, needs to be reviewed. We're talking about someone of 65 years old. A strange age to start in the "world of the crime", but hey, I may be completely wrong. I hope so.

A few good points there.

I wonder how people would have reacted if they'd been told he was a 65 yr old divorcee/widower with 3 children and 4 grandchildren??

Re: jo yeates
It is totally irrelevant what this guy looks like, how he sounds or what his sexual leanings are. I just hope the police have collected enough evidence to ensure that they have the right person in this tragic case.

That may have infact made things more believable in a strange way.

I am not saying the Landlord has done it, but normally Perpetrators start off with other lesser Crimes then grade on with Crimes, each Crime worse than the last one, then progress on to Murder, unless it was an act of total madness a one off.

Well, in this case there was that "luck" of finding the body, (I mean luck because we all wanted the victim to be alive) allowing a post-mortem exam. Now imagine if no body has been found. This would be another unsolved case to add to lots Police always have. A body is vital to determine what happened and to mount the puzzle - a La Palisse truth.

You're right, but these type of homicides can be a little different in my opinion. This doesn't exactly follow the profile of someone who's started with a minor crime and went up to homicide. I look at this man and I'm not imagining him stealing things in a supermarket when he was younger. But again, I can be wrong.

Im sure the police will be working around the clock on samples taken from both Joana's flat and the landlords.I can't explain it but when you see someone you get a "gut" feeling, well thats what i had when i saw this chap on sky news.I wont be surprised if a few skeletons come out of the cupboard on this one,he certainly looks a bit strange to me?Oh im so cinnical since those bloody McCanns changed my normal way of thinking.

Re: jo yeates
That's what puzzles me, too. He may be 'flamboyant' (whatever exactly they mean by that), he may have stayed a bachelor but it seems he didn't live a solitary life as he had plenty of interests that involved contact with other people, he had a solid career behind him, seemed affluent enough ... it just seems very odd that at the age of 65, a settled sensible man might suddenly murder a young woman. I know we never know what's going on in someone's head and murderers can be very plausible, but still, it just seems such a strange thing to do. Maybe he has some mental problem? I simply can't think why he would kill someone (IF he did it, which of course is by no means certain). There must be something more to it than what's been allowed into the public domain, IMO.Lioned wrote:carmen wrote:I wonder how people would have reacted if they'd been told he was a 65 yr old divorcee/widower with 3 children and 4 grandchildren??
