Apparently their is anachie in the newsroom and SHE is getting a right earful.....I fell so sorry, as Prescott has said, for the back room boys who are going to pay for the editors etc......all sacked...just like that....going home with NO job and the editors......spread about and to go Into the rest off the papers...not fair.

Wapping executive changes herald move to seven-day operation

News International has created what it calls a "managing editor structure" at its four newspapers in what appears to be a move towards a form of integration of daily and Sunday titles.
According to a press release, these "unique new roles will support editors in the implementation of editorial integration and redefine the way in which editorial budgets are allocated and spent."
But the real story is indicated by the quotes from Wapping's chief executive, Rebekah Brooks.
She explains that the new structure "will enable each title to share best practice and to focus more resources on front-line journalism and content creation."
And her next two sentences offer a clue to what that means:
"We will take a comprehensive look at where there is common ground across our titles and where we should remain unique.
Where there is common ground we will find ways of implementing efficiencies to editorial systems and processes and, where appropriate, we will find ways of introducing seven day working."
So Richard Caseby, the current managing editor at the Sunday Times, has been appointed group managing editor (NGN) with responsibility for The Sun and News of the World.
And Anoushka Healy becomes group managing editor (TNL) to oversee The Times and Sunday Times.
The present NoW managing editor, Bill Akass, is going to be the paper's executive editor. This will involve "regulatory compliance and general ombudsman duties."
Graham Dudman, The Sun's managing editor for several years, has been appointed editorial development director "where he will have overall responsibility for developing training, talent and skills across News International's four titles."
Memo to Rebekah: You should know better than to use that awful corporate jargon.

What is going to happen to the 4,000 people that have had their phones hacked ?
Because the papers has collapsed does that mean the investigation will be closed ?

Re: No more news off the world
Just been watching Bloomberg News and an American Investment Manager was interviewed who said a year ago he forecast that NOTW should have been
shut down earlier because of the ongoing scandal . He says Rupert Murdoch is not known for decision making and was known for having a"hundred Year Plan." His reason for shutting down the NOTW is to concentrate on buying up the remainder of BskyB shares which is worth $6.5 Billion. However, public opinion is against the buyout so he may not get permission. Another snippet from a U.K. Broker interviewed, David Cameron used to work as PR for
Carlton T.V. in opposition to BskyB.
BBC News, NOTW 160 yrs old, Police Chief says any Officers involved in taking money will be investigated.

I feel sorry for the employees that weren't there when this happened and weren't involved! But as has already been muted a new one will spring up in it's place.

A police officer said, the closing down off the news off the world WON'T make many differenc to the investigation.
I wonder if the 200 sacked employees know anything.
Wouldn't it be Funny if they sold their story.....haha..

Re: No more news off the world
It's scandals like this that keeps the clock ticking on the McCanns epic facade. They have papered over so many cracks by the skin of their teeth; hustled so many people with their absurd fictional accounts of that fateful night; and who knows how many people have been given financial incentives to keep quiet. Theirs is a fragile existence I reckon.
Tick tock McScams!!!

Yes, it should have been done long ago. Robert Peston just interviewed on BBC one News says 100,000 signatures already against Murdoch getting
the remainder of bskyb shares so his ploy failed , as will any attempt to resurrect the NOTW under a different name, 160 years of history gone. It was
not Murdoch"s conscience which forced the action, it was the loss of so many well known accounts.
