Yes Steve T, but which favours?
I'm inclined to think it is about the rumour that Gerry was/is a Fundraiser for the Labour Party and knew the Blairs and Browns socially.
Doug Skehan , Gerry's ex Boss at Glenfields is also a Fundraiser, I don't know whether for the Labour Party specifically and was
appointed a Director of NSU. He resigned in August 2010 along with the Chairman, John McCann, Gerry's Brother, and two others and I
suspect it was because they could see the way the Company was being taken over by Gerry and Smethurst.

It was apparently Tony Blair who phoned John Buck and as you say it must have been very late. To have the Ambassador go to PDL and
not an Embassy Official just shows the level of support the McCanns received , WHY WHY WHY.!!!! Could it have been Castle Craig,
Gerry's Fundraising ......but it's not just the Labour party, it's the Conservatives as well!!! Did David Cameron apprise himself of of the
investigation in detail before committing the British Taxpayer to a £3.5 million expense to prove the PJ did not overlook any potential
leads?
B.H! That means that Tony Blair got a phone call that night. Which I do not believe. Some days before I should think. It moves the demise of Maddie further back towards the beginning of the holiday. Because getting a PM on the phone is quite difficult - unless this was one of the few occasions that TB did GB a favour and it was GB who was forewarned. Isn't it weird that GB never visited the couple, never got photographed with them and didn't milk it for as many votes as he could get? Not even during the 2010 election. Almost makes me think he doesn't like them....

Re: Madeleine's DNA
Tigger, I think Kate was a Friend of Gordons' wife, and that was the connection , probably he did what he could to help but I'm not sure
that the rumour that he agreed to sign the Treaty in return for Socrates "help" in the McCann case.
When you think of the immediate help the McCanns had, it really is incredible. Philip Green making his private Jet available, their own
PR Woman and then Man, Richard Branson prepared to donate £100,000 towards Legal Fees if they were charged , as did several others,
the NOTW offering £2 million reward for information.....it really is incredible, surely not just because they are middle class Doctors.???
No, there is a common link that binds them, even to Murdoch and the £200,000 for the serial rights. I bet if we had one of those
Family tree type diagrams there would be a connection.

I've never heard that before. No I certainly don't think GB wouldn't sign the treaty if they didn't help the McC case. Socrates would like to keep his bribe as secret as he could, that had nothing to do with the treaty.
Even if GB's wife was a friend of Kate - and I've seen no evidence of that at all - it's not enough to explain the machine set in motion. Imo the McCanns could lean on a few key figures which again imo, they did possibly even before the holiday.
The papers are another thing altogether, they'd lost Diana whose face would sell millions of copies, now they had little Maddie, appealing as hell. NOTW was in no danger of having to pay out the reward, just like Branson and anyone else offering money for information. That's not what the McCanns had in mind, I'm thinking, now 2 million into the Fund - but Murdoch's too canny for that.
Clarrie threatened all the papers with libel - and so everyone fell into line. They still had to pay out lots for libel later on, which must have made them really mad. No, I don't think there's any love lost between Murdoch and TM. Certainly not after Leveson.

Glad to hear someone other than myself shares this view.
I took some grief off Claudia for even daring to mention this.
I think a confession without the body may secure a conviction
Still on your mind, I see. I do tend to be hard to forget.
