Kate has written an "emotional epilogue" for the book (tomorrow's Mirror)
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/formal-reopening-of-case-into-disappearance-of--784203#.T4Cp9bKJQ90.twitter
From Wikipedia, the definition of Epilogue - An epilogue or epilog is a piece of writing at the end of a work of literature or drama, usually used to bring closure to the work.
So we are going to get "closure". Is she finally going to confess? Don't wonder too hard.

Mirror:Madeleine McCann case on verge of being formally reopened.
Kate McCann has told of her renewed hopes of finding Madeleine in a new version of her book for the fifth anniversary of her daughter’s disappearance.
Mum Kate has written an emotional epilogue for the book reflecting on Scotland Yard’s review into the case and said she will never give up the belief that Maddie is still alive.
The Sunday Mirror can also reveal that the Met Police will complete a comprehensive report with a series of recommendations later in the year and it is hoped it will lead the Portuguese Police to formally reopening the case.
A cold case unit has been set up by the Policia Judiciaria in Porto and they will be considering a number of leads Scotland Yard have suggested should be reinvestigated in the review set up last year.
A source said: “There is a very good possibility the case will be formally reopened later in the year. There has been a significant improvement in cooperation between the Portuguese and UK police.
“The Met have put a lot of resources into the review and they want a result. It is a decision for the Portuguese authorities to reopen the case but when they see the report from the Met there will more than enough reasons to launch a new investigation.
“The cold case review by the Portuguese Police was a big step in the right direction and the momentum is gathering pace. The renewed optimism is reflected in Kate’s updated book in which she writes about the review.”
Kate’s new paperback version of the book, simply titled Madeleine, will be released on May 10, seven days after the fifth anniversary of her daughter’s disappearance.
The source said: “Kate has spent several months writing the epilogue and it will bring the tragic story up to date with the police review which Scotland Yard has been carrying out since the fourth anniversary.
“The new version will reflect Kate and Gerry’s optimism that the involvement of the Met and the review in Portugal is giving them renewed hope.
“In the epilogue Kate talks about her gratitude towards the Met because she realises the significance of the review in moving forward towards the case being reopened. She thanks the police and talks about her hope for the future.
“Kate and Gerry will never give up hope in finding Madeleine and while the fifth anniversary is another sad milestone they are looking forward to the completion of the review.”
The book sold more than 280,000 copies in Britain with thousands more bought around the world and it is hoped the new updated version with Kate’s epilogue will boost sales further to raise money for the appeal to find the youngster.
Maddie was just days short of her fourth birthday when she vanished from Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007 as her parents dined at a nearby tapas bar with friends.
An international hunt was launched for Maddie but the Portuguese police were criticised for making Kate, 44, and hospital consultant Gerry, 43, formal suspects in the case.
The parents were officially cleared of any involvement in July 2008 but the case was also shelved leaving the McCanns to carry on their desperate search with the help of private investigators.
Under renewed pressure last year Scotland Yard announced it was reviewing the case and 30 murder squad detectives were assigned to Operation Grange and a number of offices made at least four trips to Portugal and Spain.
It was reported in December that the Met were examining eight “important” new leads and it is understood the leads will form part of the recommendations when the report is handed over to the Portuguese Police in a “matter of months”.

From that article:
If my memory serves me, it was reported that Metodo 3 said there were at least 8 good lead in the 30 boxes the police took away from their offices. I don't recall reading that the Met said there were eight important leads.

Gold dust, actually. More like gold plated, and the plating's worn off.

Ah yes! It was gold dust!
BTW: Apologies to you. I meant to merge the threads the other way round so that the newer one merged with the first posted, in which case it would have had your thread title. Woops!

More emotional blackmail - does she really think SY will fall for her overused fawning.

Maybe she thinks she needs to be fawning. The Met might not be such an easy target as those cops from that Mediterranean country, the one without a navy!
Re: Mirror:Madeleine McCann case on verge of being formally reopened.
I am really getting angry now that the greedy money grabbing pair are the lowest of the low.
How can they possibly claim the money from the Sale of this "Epilogue" will be used to fund the search for Madeleine when we all know no one is searching.
Have the Detectives been selling info to them that they feel so strongly the case will be re-opened?
So the first book sold 280,000 copies, at £10 a copy how much do you think they will have received?
I thought an epilogue was an endgame, does that mean they will not write another book or that they will close the fund when they have made
enough money to sail off into the sunset to some foreign clime.? I hope they don't sell any and they certainly havn't enough news to fill another 384
pages.

Agree it can`t possibly be an Epilogue - the case hasn`t even been solved. Maybe she intends to do an annual review of their lives, or even a monthly magazine

Or even a slot on Radio 4 called Mrs. McCann`s Diary as a spin off from Mrs. Dale`s Diary - anyone remember that?

Except she would not be able to remember what she did on a day to day basis. Poor memory has Kate.

Oh please Oldartform, don't even joke about such a thought that we will be subjected to any more of this b****hit from Kate, does she really think we
were all born yesterday? I hope they leave Britain with their ill gotten gains and go to live in some Country where they have never heard of Madeleine ,
poor child, she didn't deserve these two for Parents, any other couple and she would be alive. How much do you think they made on the first Book.
£2,800,000 is a lot of money...I presume out of the £10, the advance would have to be paid plus distribution costs, would that he right.

Hi tanzi. that is what I would like to know. The Taxpayer is paying for this review and the Mccanns have no right to receive any info until a Report is
completed and ent to David Cameron or Theresa May. This report should be made public anyway, the Taxpayer has a right to know.

Hi matthew, is that true? Since it it the Public paying for this, they should be kept informed as well.!!!!! We know Clarence is responsible for this and our
insipid Press print this in the hope it will sell more Papers, but I think Joe public is heartily sick of reading about the greedy McCanns when there is so
much else going on it the world.

Yes its true Panda,
THE PRIME MINISTER
12 May 2011
Dear Kate & Gerry,
Thank you for your heartfelt and moving letter. Your ordeal is every parent's worst nightmare and my heart goes out to you both. I simply cannot imagine the pain you must have experienced over these four agonising years, and the strength and determination you have both shown throughout is remarkable.
I am acutely aware of the frustration you must feel as more time goes by and yet no news is forthcoming. We discussed this when we met, but I realise that a further eighteen months have gone by since then. That you have been so courageous over all this time, and have not given up, speaks volumes.
I have asked the Home Secretary to look into what more the Government could do to help Madeleine. She will be writing to you today, setting out new action involving the Metropolitan Police Service which we hope will help boost efforts in the search for Madeleine. I sincerely hope this fresh approach will provide the investigation with the new momentum that it needs.
I know that everyone hopes and prays for a successful outcome, and our thoughts remain with you and your family. We will, of course, stay in close touch with you throughout.
Yours,
David

Thanks matthew, David Cameron has even invited Kate to downing Streeet on 2rd May to support Missing Children's Day, Joe public won't be taken in by this and see how she is using him to in a way promote her Book. I can't see the Mccanns knowing what is going on with the review though , it would
be Theresa May and she was in no hurry to order a review before Cameron stepped in. I honestly think since it is still officially Portugal's case, no one
except those involved will know what progress has been made.
