Mr Parmenter seems to be missing the point that reporting the grafitti about stupidity out of context changes the story. I am sure it is not beyond the realms of an intrepid Sky reporter to be able to explain the grafitti in words which would satisfy Sky's lawyers and explain the comment accurately.

Btw - re the curiously rapid Site 2 search - on Tom Burridge's video report (link below) it shows a tape-marked square where the vehicles are gathered (round about 00.19). I wonder if this is where the object was found.

The Telegraph reports the graffiti made accusations towards the McCanns and called the Police stupid. Their spokesperson declined to comment.

Yes mossman, I was just reading it. At least they didn't ignore it.

The Madeleine McCann investigation is facing a backlash from Portuguese locals as officers begin searching a second site.

Graffiti slurring the McCann family and describing British police as "stupid" appeared scrawled on a wall opposite a new site being investigated.

Sniffer dogs are being used on the area near where Madeleine McCann went missing in Portugal seven years ago after a fresh area of land was cordoned off by police in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz at first light this morning.

The words "policia ingesa [sic] estupidos" appeared on a nearby wall, as well as accusations against the McCanns, alleging they were responsible for her disappearance.

I wonder if they'll pop into flat 5a with the sniffer dogs while they're there.
