Mossman...I think you are so right.
The Daily Star has picked up on this: "Maddie McCann's parents to be sued by ex police chief after book ban is overturned"

Listened today to O'brien on LBC. People were saying that Amaral was in it to make money from the book. How little the general public know what this has cost him. On the plus side, he said he is interested in reading the book!

Anorak's take on the events is worth reading. I particularly liked: "Mass public opinion is turning. The McCanns are slipping lower and lower down the celebs to be seen with list, certainly no longer A list and slightly embarrassing to be around, according to some whispers."

And we haven't heard much promotion of all their 'good works' like running marathons and helping missing persons charities. And what about all those imminent arrests and breakthroughs we were hearing about a year or so ago. They all came to nothing. The comments in the Mail weren't very favourable. Great understatement!!

Re: Just picked up from Twitter: Gonçalo's appeal
Good news and relief at last for Amaral after years of persecution. However, will the charity; Missing People Registered Registered Charity No.1020419 show the concerns which must be at the back of their mind and remove Kate McCann from their list of Ambassadors? Now that would send a message to the McCann's tunnel visioned followers who may be likely to carry on funding their celebrity lifestyle.

Express & Star (www.expressandstar.com) April 21, 2016: "West Midlands PCC election candidate Andy Flynn in disgusting slur against Madeleine McCann's mother".
This article states he made "offensive" posts on his Facebook page "including a disgusting slur" about Kate McCann. The slur is quoted in the article in the event anyone wants to read it.

IS THE GAME FINALLY UP FOR THE MCCANNS?
April 20, 2016
The McCanns have suffered a huge blow to their ongoing battle at silencing anyone that questions the fantasy abduction ‘story’ they have been peddling since Madeleine vanished from their apartment in early 2007.
Gonçalo Amaral, The Chief Inspector who allegedly ‘bungled’ the hunt for Madeleine during the early stages of the investigation, has won his appeal by ‘unanimous decision’ against a malicious libel lawsuit by the McCanns, for a book, in which he publishes an alternative explanation as to what really happened to Madeleine on that fateful night.
It’s fair to say that Gonçalo has been the victim of a disgraceful ‘smear campaign’ orchestrated by the McCanns team of high-profile lawyers and PR firms on the Madeleine McCann fund payroll — who’s sole purpose is to try and keep a lid on the uncomfortable ‘truth of the lie’, which, in my opinion, clearly reveals Gerry and Kate’s involvement in Madeleine's disappearance.
Gonçalo’s victory against the McCanns, could now hopefully lead to a re-opening of the case where so many questions remain unanswered. Particularly the 48 revealing questions Kate McCann refused to answer when she was made a suspect.
The McCanns are predictably ‘seething’ with the verdict, but their arrogance shows no bounds, as they prepare to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court — frivolously wasting more cash from the fund set-up to find Madeleine in the process.
I want to take this opportunity to wish Gonçalo my deepest congratulations. I truly hope that this will re-inject much needed attention onto the case and also earn him a tidy-sum from book sales in light of the recent publicity. After-all, this was a man who’s career was ruined, his family ripped apart, his reputation irreversibly tarnished and has spent the last 6 years in and out of court battling the McCanns for simply sharing his opinion on the investigation.
The war may not be over, but this battle has been won and we are one step closer to finding out what really happened to Madeleine McCann…

Madeleine Appeal court rules in favour of man who accused the McCanns in print

A former Portuguese police chief has won his appeal over a court libel loss against the parents of Madeleine McCann, it has been reported.
Kate and Gerry McCann, from Rothley, took legal action after Goncalo Amaral published The Truth Of The Lie in 2008 – a defamatory view of what he thinks happened based on the investigation he led into the three-year-old's disappearance.
A Portuguese court ordered him to pay Kate and Gerry a quarter of a million euros each in damages following a libel trial.
But yesterday three appeal judges ruled in Amaral's favour, the McCanns' lawyer said.
The McCanns' Portuguese lawyer, Isabel Duarte, said she learned of the appeal decision yesterday afternoon.
She said: "I and the McCanns are obviously disappointed but I am not surprised because one of the judges ruled in favour of a previous appeal overturning a ban on the book.
"This decision was an appreciation of the law and not the facts. We can appeal to the Supreme Court which we will do as we have instructions from our clients."

Extremely interesting reading. I hope that this does get the case re-opened and all the unaswered questions ( including infamous 48) will be answered. Do they feel the noose tightening round their necks?

Re: Just picked up from Twitter: Gonçalo's appeal
If and when will, 'The Truth of The Lie' be allowed on bookshelves here in the UK? Or will we need to have rels and/or friends abroad to send us a copy? While the perpetuation of the cover up looks as if it may be on the wane everywhere else on planet earth, it's still closed lips and media control here in the corrupt UK.

Re: Just picked up from Twitter: Gonçalo's appeal
I can't honestly see that a publisher in the UK will be brave enough to publish the book in the UK. It will more than likely be on sale here again but it will be in Portuguese so even if you get a copy, it will need to be translated. It was on the internet, that is where I got the English version from.

There is no reason why an English version of the book should not be put on sale in Portugal and indeed throughout Europe. Plenty of English-speaking tourist around to snap them up.
