They must have known the result of the Hearing in advance, which is a blow for Justice and a big black mark
for the Portugese Judiciary IMO
Since TV1 are banned from commenting expect the McCanns to drop their charges against them, big fish to
threaten IMO. No News on the Amaral book "The English Gag" since it"s launch, anyone know if it available to
buy?[/quote
seems like it beattie,
hope they dont back out,
will be interesting to see the outcome of this one,
and more information being leaked,
not heard any info on Amarals book yet the english gag, will be a very interesting read,
im sure we will hear about it soon,

The story is in the Daily Mail, Victory for the Mccanns, they have allowed comments, but only pro-ones and a couple about free speech.

Whenever I comment on other stories they are published, but when I comment on the McCann case never..Wonder why? Funny freedom of speech in the UK press when only one side or edited comments are published..

I know it sounds odd but why dont we organise a march thro downing street and trafalgar square, the freedom off speech march, we could hold banners off mr amaral and do other things, wear t shirts with his picture on..we could even call it...JUSTICE FOR MADELEINE MCCANN march... hold it just before the mccanns are next in court...
Its not as silly as you might think.....we need to do something.

Re: Court twitters today 18/02
It is a very interesting conundrum for the McCanns. If they back out now, the book will be un-banned won't it? If they don't, how will that be spun in the press then? Will it be McCanns go back to Portugal to do what? Ensure Portugal upholds the ban on the book? Either way, there will be more reporting on the book and Amaral is still going to take this to the European courts isn't he?
So, yes a good ploy to invite Mr Mitchell back to organise conference tomorrow. Looks like a win for them, but there's no end to the problems in store for them as far as I can see.
If the whole thing is political which I suspect somehow, it will be interesting to see how the Murat/Tanner thing fares within that umbrella.

There"s a very good photo of the Portugese feeling towards the McCanns, It"s on the hardlinemarxist blog on
Wordpress. Iv"e tried copy and paste a couple of times, if anyhone can get it on here it is worth a look.

Yes, that would be a worthwhile idea kitti. A Freedom of Speech march in London, it would be showing that pair there are many people who do not believe their lies and falsehoods.

angelina - NO! you dont....will you join us????
i know someone who is currently protesting against motorbike parking charges in london. peaceful protests involving many many hairy bikers and lots of not so hairy and very 'doctorish' ones (!). he has even had his old eccentric little russian bike blocking the entrance of westminster parliament. it went down very well with the police - they thought it hilarious. as long as it is peaceful it is our right. and their protest is doing very well indeed. look it up on youtube.

I have to say that this picture says it all: "The guilt of the McCann", the book by Manuel Catarino.
That's a very symbolic pic, it resumes what we feel: the need to preserve our democratic rights won in 25th April 1974 (the carnations) and the need to convict those that are guilty of wrong doings (the McCann).
