That's a little like getting specialist extradition lawyers to...
Or hiring a firm of investigators specializing in money laundering to...
Well there is certainly something fishy about the story so maybe he has made the right choice.

Sky breaking news says Dewani is 'too ill' to attend court.

Honeymoon Murder Husband 'Too Ill' For Court
12:12pm UK, Thursday January 20, 2011
Rob Cole, Sky News Online
The extradition hearing of a British businessman accused of ordering the murder of his new wife in South Africa has been adjourned because he is too ill to attend court.
Shrien Dewani's case was due to be heard at London's City of Westminster Magistrates' Court but it has emerged he is suffering from acute stress.
Dewani, 31, is accused of hiring a hitman to kill his bride Anni, 28, on their honeymoon in November.
He has been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with an acute stress disorder and a depressive adjustment disorder.
His spokesman Max Clifford also said he did not need to be present because it was just a formality to fix a date for a future hearing.
Mr Clifford said: "He's in a dreadul state, he's mourning, he's grieving.
"His family and friends are very worried about him and he's lost the woman he loves."
The extradition case will be formally opened on February 8 at Belmarsh Magistrates' Court and chief magistrate Howard Riddle said he will review whether Dewani should attend then.

The couple were honeymooning in South Africa when their cab was hijacked
South African authorities want him to stand trial for the alleged contract killing in Cape Town.
He has previously fought attempts to extradite him.
Mrs Dewani, from Sweden, was shot when the taxi the couple were travelling in was hijacked in the Gugulethu township on the outskirts of Cape Town.
She was found in the back of the abandoned cab with a bullet wound to her neck.
Dewani has claimed he was told to leave the taxi before Mrs Dewani was driven away and killed.
Taxi driver Zola Tongo said in a plea bargain that Dewani offered him 15,000 rand (£1,400) for the killing - a claim Dewani rejects.
Tongo, 31, was sentenced to 18 years in jail for murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances and perverting the course of justice.

Cab driver Zola Tongo implicated Dewani in the murder
Xolile Mnguni, 23, and Mziwamadoda Qwabe, 25, who are charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery with aggravating circumstances, will appear before Wynberg Regional Court on February 25.
A friend of Dewani has said on the BBC's Inside Out West programmethat the businessman had not ruled out returning to South Africa to clear his name if certain guarantees were made.
Karen Todner, an extradition lawyer, said Dewani's case had a good chance of succeeding.
"Extradition cases are always difficult to fight but I would be optimistic of his chances of opposing if he chooses to do so," she told Sky News.
"I do not know of any case where someone has been extradited to South Africa.
"I think there would be a very good argument about their prison conditions and judicial system."
Dewani faces charges of conspiracy to murder, murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravated circumstances and obstruction of the administration of justice.
Perhaps immodium might help him.

Adjourned? Why? It's not a trial - Dewani did not need to be there. Or am I missing something?

IMO it's bad reporting. Today was a preliminary hearing to set the date for the main hearing - which has been done and is February 8th. Everything else is sensationalism. To quote Max Clifford, "His spokesman Max Clifford also said he did not need to be present because it was just a formality to fix a date for a future hearing." Kinda makes one wonder about Sky's methods.

Max Clifford just said he believes his client is innocent, and is deeply grieving the loss of his wife!
Okey dokey then!

In future big savings can be made by dispensing with the whole judicial system and letting Max Clifford or Mitchell decide who get's away with murder and who doesn't

Re: LATEST NEWS ON DEWANI MURDER
PR is short for "saying anything and everything whether true or false, that will permit the client to consider that you are doing the very best for them and ensuring that the money continues to roll in to the cash box". There is no other purpose for PR of the kind that Mitchell and Clifford perform than to paint the best picture in a bad situation. That is their only job in cases like this and truth is something that simply cannot be allowed to interfere with the far more important aims of protection and profit.

The passage of time is also beneficial - the longer you can avoid being brought to account for something - the more likely you are to get away with it.

Over here his lawyer is Julian Knowles. This appears on his Chambers website -
"Julian is one of the UK’s leading extradition
counsel and a substantial proportion of his practice involves advising
on international criminal law issues for both governments and
individuals. He acted for General Pinochet in the extradition
proceedings brought by Spain between 1998 and 2000 and has appeared in a
number of other high profile extradition cases including:

• Algeria v Khelifa (first extradition to Algeria)
• Russia v. Temerko and Russia v. Chernysheva (former executives from the Yukos oil company)
• Russia v Zakaev (former Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya)
• United States of America v Abdelbary (Al-Queda conspiracy to bomb US Embassies in Africa)
• R v Secretary of State ex parte Ramda (conspiracy to cause explosions on the Paris Metro) "

How else do rich people get rich except by ensuring they never spend an unnecesary penny? Even if they are only sort of rich and are up to their eyes in debt.

Dewani is seriously in the doo doo when the "German Master" opens his yap, he has already signed and confirmed the statement, he was paid 1000pounds for three nights of the masters tactics (looks like a bit of S & M to me).
I will confirm again that the SA Police are corrupt, I lived there for 35years, but in this case yeah, a perfect Topic, Dewani in the doo doo! as he most certainly is.
