I am wondering if Gerry has been advised to leave by his legal team as he was/is getting too worked up and that's not good for their case. As others have said, surely he would have booked the week off? Gerry is a cardiologist, not a specialist surgeon, who might be needed in an emergency. I would have thought that cover had been arranged for him.

This seems to have come out of the blue and I think there must be a reason other than work commitments for this sudden departure.

I think he's scared they are gonna get arrested at the end of this hearing. So he's buggering off out of Portugal sharpish, same as last time, and leaving the fragrant Kate to carry the tin on her lonesome.

They should never have been allowed out of Portugal till they answered the questions and took part in the reconstruction. And to let them swan round the world spouting forth their version of events. And everybody who disagreed gagged and sued. How have they got away with that. One answer. Money. it talks. Or gags in this case. The fund should have been frozen immediately they were made arguidos and not unfrozen until Madeleine was found and the people responsible behind bars.

Pity he didn't show such emotion when his precious little girl was (allegedly) abducted.

The way I remember it, neither of them showed any emotion then. It was their dry, non reddened, non swollen eyes that first aroused my suspicions.

It will be interesting to see how red and swollen Kate's eyes will be when she's backed into a corner, if and when she gets on the stand.

i have concerns because it was reported their lawyer agreed that they would speak after Goncal Amaral, and it would probably be thursday, so they agreed to speak on Thursday, he knowing he would be going home this afternoon. thats my impression.

I can't see how it would do them any favours to get reporting stopped now? We've had all the negative stuff about the McCann's, presumably they are going to at least try to redress the balance when it's their turn, so turning off the show now will leave the negative stuff about them out there on it's own, don't you think?

Yes your right arizona, my guess is he is trying to stop something coming out in court that he doesnt want anyone to hear!

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot more negative stuff to come. Mr Amaral hasn't spoken yet. I bet they are out to gag him again. Double gag. He's going back to get a gag as things aren't going well. I have no doubts. But that's only my opinion.

Perhaps its best that the world doesnt hear Dave Edgars theory of hellish lairs and secret places that cannot be traced where Madeleine is being held 10 mins from PDL, I mean it is well known that the mccanns like a laugh and a secret smirk, even they wouldnt be able to surpress those giggles!!
