Agreed. Work commitments? That's never bothered him before. He's getting out quick, just like they both did, when they were made arguidos.

Yes, I agree. I think the work commitments story is to emphasize the fact that he is still allowed to work and is therefore beyond suspicion..unlike Kate who is allegedly putting the twins first these days...

I think this is the reason, after seeing this morning's performance.

I think McCann is showing his contempt for the whole Portuguese judiciary system and for Mr Amaral and his thesis. That's the aim, plus of course illustrating his upstanding doctor image.

I think for the first time Gerry and Kate have not been in control and this is what Gerry can"t handle. The
criticism outside the Courthouse was from an English Woman, not Portugese The Hearing is not going well for
the McCanns and Gerry is going back to seek urgent advice from Carter Ruck and does not want to take the Stand. He looks even more guilty by running away and perhaps this is the beginning of the end for the McCanns.

I think that Gerry is scared and will be running back to Carter-Ruck to try and get them to salvage something from the mess the Mc Canns have got themselves into, but I think it's to late for that. The Press have woken up and will not go back to sleep that easily. He will probably ask for a new leading solicitor or an injunction against press reporting eg sky, but sky have enough money to fight any action he may try to take. After all the revelations in court so far I would like to see the fraud squad involved with an investigation into the fund, surely now they could at least start a preliminary enquiry into the fund.

Beattie, I do so hope so. If things don't go his way he does tend to throw a strop. He is a control freak and likes to control situations and people. If he can't then the only answer is to run away. Makes you wonder what he was like as a child. We have a pretty good idea from the adult version that he was probably spoilt.

There was a 'voice off,' during Gerry's rant this morning, seemingly trying to support Gerry. I thought the voice sounded like Clarrie's.

As per Gerry on Sky Live he is returning to the UK and Kate is staying on in Lisbon...
