One more big NO NO ,is don't take much alcohol either beer and wine have a lot of suger,and often folk just don't think of that one joyce1938

SAW NURSE ON WEDNESDAY,WEIGHT GONE UP,HOPE I DON'T END UP ON INSULIN.
CHOLESTROL IS BIT HIGH,HAVE APPOINTMENT WITH DOCTOR IN 2 WEEKS TIME ,HOPE I STAY ALRIGHT IN MEANTIME.

Good news about not having to go on Statins Badboy and walking great exercise and can also help with lifting mood.   

My son has had Type 1 for 17 years....4 or 5 injections a day. He's so thin I sometimes think a puff of wind would blow him over.

A couple of years ago he was sent on a DAFNE course.....was on the waiting list a year. It teaches you that you can eat most things with diabetes, how to adjust your insulin, how to have an insulin free day if you are ill, and loads of other stuff. It's not available in all areas (definitely should be) but I suggest anyone suffering with Type 1 asks their GP if they can get on the course.

THE HEAD OF THE NHS GOT DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES BEFORE CHRISTMAS,SHOCKED HIM.
ONE BIRMINGHAM HOSPITAL'S PATIENTS,28% HAS DIABETES.

I SAW A PROGRAMME ON DIABETES,POTENTIAL 5 MILLION BRITONS HAVE DIABETES.(1IN 12?)
FORGOT WHAT ELSE WAS MENTIONED APART FROM A POSSIBLE DIET TO CURE DIABETES.

35% OF BITONS ARE PREDIABETIC,50% OF CHINESE ARE PREDIABETIC.
10% OF NHS BUDGET IS SPEND ON DIABETICS.

I sometimes go all weak and faint when i am working,usually around mid morning,feel like i need a sugar rush and drink ! So i eat something and feel better in a few minutes,Is that 'pre diabetic'.
Hasnt happened much recently,just once the other day,used to happen maybe every other day so maybe started getting better when i improved my diet.

WENT TO SEE NURSE ON THURSDAY,SHE MISREAD SCALES,THINKING I HAD GAINED WEIGHT,SO I POINTED OUT SHE WAS MISREADIN SCALES,I HAVE LOSE WEIGHT

A friend who has Type 2 diabetes is on the Paleo diet, which she said was recommended by Diabetes UK as the best diet for Type 2.

It does look good, cherry1 and it seems that it is not only good for diabetics but for the rest of us. I'm investigating the paleo/primal for vegetarians.
